Food’s for Birds

Birds No Comments

Just like cats and dogs some foods that you eat could be harmful for birds. You think that birds can eat all sorts of nut but really they should be careful to avoid highly salted nuts like salted peanuts. Other items that have high amounts of salt are also dangerous and harmful to birds too. Things such as chips and salted bacon rinds fit into this category.

Also dangerous are spicy foods. These are things like curried meat and strong sauces. Desiccated coconut is also dangerous to birds too. This swells up inside the birds’ stomachs with fatal results.

Instead ideally pre-packaged foods from a petstore specially made for the type of bird you have would be the best option but if you have to make homemade meals for your bird make sure that it does not include any of these foods. They may be okay for us but they may not be okay for your birdy friends.

Sugar - My cat

Main No Comments

Sugar!

This is my cute kitty Sugar. We believe that she is an Tabby cat. We got her from a local petsmart about 5 years ago. Now she is about 8 years old. Her favorite places to be are the comfy cat condos that me and my friends have made for her. They are her favorite places to go and feels very safe in them. All that her ” cat condos ” are is boxes that have a hole cut out of the front that she can fit through. We then just add old sheets inside and put somewhere where she can find it. Currently we have one in my parents office downstairs and one upstairs in my room. We’ll this is all I have to say about Sugar now but be sure that you will hear more about my pets later on.

Bringing your new dog home

Dogs No Comments

When you first bring your new dog home there are some rules that you need to decide. You will first need to decide on what times you are going to feed your dog. Eventually your dog will get used to getting fed at the times. You need to schedule about when your pup will go outside for bathroom breaks and when and who will take it on a walk. You need to decide these things with everyone or at least make sure that everyone knows. If you dog gets different feeding times each day, they may get confused about when they are supposed to be eating, ( Or some dogs may just accept it and be happy about all the food! )

You need to decide what rooms you puppy will be allowed to go in at first. Over time and when your puppy grows older you could add rooms onto the list that they are allowed to go in. For example, Emma and Sophie are not allowed to go upstairs at all because they are not quite trained to not tear up everything in their path.  If you have a room full of china or other expensive items, you may not want your dog to go in there at first.

You need to decide who will be taking your dog for walks. You may want to alternate who is taking your dog for walks and create a schedule of who is taking the dog and when.  Ideally  your dog should have two walks each day.

101 Dog Tricks…By Kyra Sundance and Chalcy

Books No Comments

I highly recommend this book for anyone that thinks their dog is and forever will be un-trainable. It had easy step by step tricks for dogs from the level Easy all the way up to Expert and 2 other levels in between! Needless to say you wont be doing expert trick immediately but with this book you will be doing them with a little practice!

They show you and tell you in pictures and words how to do each trick.  They show tricks from sitting to jumping through a “flaming” hoop! They have tricks suitable for all types of dogs big and small. Think that you may be too tall for your dog to learn a trick meant for bigger dogs?… Keep reading the page, most tricks like that have ways to learn for both big and small dogs!

Overall this is just a great book! Even if you think you dog may all ready know all the tricks on the “easy” level, go through them all at least once to refresh you dogs memory and make sure that none of the tricks need any polishing!

Food for Cats

Cats No Comments

Just like dogs, cats are not supposed to eat human food, but are supposed to eat cat food. Some particular human foods are more dangerous to cats than others. Apples,Apricots, Cherries, Peaches and Plums are all dangerous to cats. Eating too many stems, leaves, or seeds of these fruits could harm any cat.The signs or toxicity from this are apprehension, dilated pupils, difficulty breathing, hyperventilation and shock.

Signs of toxicity include tremors, seizures, nervous system abnormalities or death

Milk is not recommended to be given to adult cats because of most being lactose-intolerant and having problems digesting it. However if your cat likes it, the milk could be replaced with cream. Cream has less lactose in it then whole or skim milk.

One type of cat food that I would suggest is Nature’s Best cat food. This cat food is all natural and has great flavors for your cat, that your cat will enjoy eating while staying healthy!
